THE SHOULDER AND UPPER EXTREMITIES

Common injuries include:
 

  • Lateral epicondylitis (aka tennis elbow)

  • Medial epicondylitis (aka golfer's elbow, climber's elbow)

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Arthritis of the wrist, hand, and finger joints

THE HIPS AND PELVIS

Dr. Travall focuses on local trigger points and motor points that are anatomically correlated to significant nerves and blood vessels in this area. Common injuries include:
 

  • Hip bursitis

  • Osteoarthritis of the hip joint

  • Sacral-iliac joint dysfunction

  • Piriformis syndrome

  • Sacrotuberous ligament dysfunction

THE KNEE

Common injuries include:

 

  • Ligament sprains

  • Patellar tendonitis

  • Patellofemoral pain syndrome and chondromalacia (runner’s knee)

  • Meniscus injury

  • Iliotibial band syndrome

physical therapy, massage, and therapeutic exercises.

ARTHRITIS AND JOINT CONDITIONS

Although it may require longer,  ongoing treatment, acupuncture can help to alleviate and treat arthritis, including conditions in the knee and the hip, which are susceptible to
osteoarthritis. Common areas of treatment include:
 

  • Hip Arthritis

  • Osteoarthritis of the first metatarsal-phalanges joint

  • AC joint arthritis

  • Osteoarthritis in the knee

  • Arthritis in smaller joints of the wrist, hand, and foot

TENDONITIS

Acupuncture can be used to treat many types of tendonitis, both acute and chronic. Dr. Travall most commonly treats the following tendons and afflictions:
