A LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES
The 3 Stages of Dr. Travall's Facial Acupuncture Treatment
This one-of-a-kind treatment synergizes the interaction of three stages in each individual session: Needles, Red-Light Therapy and Microcurrent.
Stage 1
NEEDLES
Inserting the fine acupuncture needles stimulates the skin’s cellular turnover and triggers the production of collagen and elastin, while also relaxing the connective tissue between the skin and muscles. The needles are inserted in specific locations to enable tightened facial muscles to relax. Acupuncture also activates weakened muscles, which often cause the skin to sag and droop.
Stage 2
RED LIGHT THERAPY
Red Light Therapy (RLT) is a painless, heat-free process using low-level red light waves, which are emitted directly to the skin after the needles have been inserted. RLT increases blood circulation, helping to bring more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and cells.
Stage 3
MICROCURRENTS
Gentle, face-firming microcurrents accelerate the repair of cells, and promote healthier cell production, while also triggering the body’s production of amino acids and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Microcurrents are typically used in facials to focus on the muscles beneath the skin, stimulating and training them to tone and firm up (which is often why microcurrent facials are referred to as ‘facial workouts.’)
